HOMEDEC Exhibition 2009

Hey guys, wassup!!! Hehehe...Sorry, I've been disappearing too much lately so now I shall be good and give up a lil update about my first ever participation in the Interior Design related exhibition which I had promised to blog about it earlier on...
ARE YOU READY???
Lets get this started on =)

HOMEDEC Exhibition 2009 (Penang) Venue : PISA International Stadium, Penang
Date : 5 - 7 June 2009 Time : 10:00am - 9:00pm

Well well well...Before you all get excited in seeing all the design package I had worked on for so long, let me first introduce the company I'm working for... Tadah~ Its the F.U.K.A Interior Decoration Sdn. Bhd. from Bukit Mertajam, Penang
Yada yada...Laugh as loud as you want to be when pronoucing the name of the company...Its not the F*cker for God sake and it shoud be pronouce nicely in Mandrin as 'foo kah' aight!!! Sheesh...

Next...Lets see what I've got here...Hmm, the overall design of the exhibition booth, shall we? Aha...It was initially 50% of my work done and 50% other was from my boss's idea...Simple, clean and applying those recycle-able materials were our hit for this exhibition but it actually turned out that I've realized MAJORITY of the visitors who came to have a look doesn't even know how to appreciate whats to called DESIGN and they kept asking the same question : You guys DECO and RENOVATE ah??? (Ish, well...Lets just say a 'BIG THANKEW' to that botak Eric Leong for spoiling the Interior Design market...He doesnt even have a design related education background for God sake!!!)

3 days long for the exhibition done and I would say it gave me a strong profile in terms of my portfolio...Though it gave me some really faktap reason to keep staying and working...I would love best to see whats more I can achieve in these 2 months time...Together with the young designer team, we had a final photograph sessions with the 'booth' and see you again next year if I's still working for the firm...

Last but not least to put all that aside, I'm here presenting to you the GRAPHIC work I've done for the exhibition as well =D Hehehe...POWDERFULL leh~~~

Putrajaya trip

Its a beautiful Monday...Its a bright bright sunny day =)

Wheee *Happy mode on - snatched camera - hop into the car - speed off*

Had a road trip with my TineTine babe to our Malaysia ever famous *cough* new intelligent city of the Putrajaya today...Actualy we were there just to teman HuiYing, another classmate of mine to get some floor plans for her Disseartation project next year, which she had already made an appointment with the council of Putrajaya Holdings that is located at the Perbadanan Putrajaya Complex...
Perbadanan Putrajaya Complex - the Malaysian's version of very nice LOFT building which the council itself had won several awards for the special office design and landscaping...Looking at and speaking of the architecture and landscaping itself, I think the country shall input more of these high quality working environment instead of just plotting it at targeted tourists visiting spots like KLCC park and of course a small bit of the Putrajaya / Cyberjaya town...
While waiting for HuiYing to finish off the business with the council, me and my babe just went around the small lil sunken garden situated in between the complex blocks and started our cam-whore session like nobody's business =P Okay okay, now heres the prove of what I meant...

Take one : our 'professional shoot'Take two : my close up...
Take three : me with the flowers

Sick and tired of seeing the vain me yet?

If not, please proceed to the next coming shots...If yes, please click here and you will regret it later =P

For those who decided to continue...Heres the continuation...

Take four : Palace of Justice, the opposite building
Chup!!!Anyone spotted something funny in the picture?

No??? Seriously, TAKE A CLOSER LOOK!!!

Hmm...Okla, I give you a close up snap shot of what I see...There you go...
*BUAT KERJA! in english means DOING WORK!*
So, now everyone knows why people go Putrajaya for and please don't you dare blaming those workers who work in the Palace of Justice if says you call and asked for some information but they never pick up your call or they might just give you a reply : 'SAYA TENGAH BUAT KERJA!!!'

ROFLMAO~ Seriously, I think this could be voted as the funniest slogan ever!!! Gosh, who on earth uses their own tag line as BUAT KERJA??? Jeez!!! Learn how to use your words right, our beloved Malaysia government...

The Kurve by Karim Rashid

Hola everyone~ *tsk tsk*

Hmm...While I am still suffering to finish up my final design project, let me relieve myself a bit of the stress by blogging something related to the Interior Designing field perhaps? Hehe...This is my very first try of blogging about something design-related and hopefully I've got all the information right for you guys yea =)

The Kurve, New York
Facade entrance
Okay...So, speaking of the Kurve (NOT the Curve in Malaysia...) *smack head* Its actually a kaleidoscopic undulating non-stop restaurant which definitely has their very strong identities to stand out in places like the New York city.
The ovaloid-shaped windows
The Kurve's experience takes the diners to another world for an evening as the ovaloid-shaped windows, white glass communal table, ceiling-to-floor amorphous bar, sinuous walls and booths, soft organic lounge chairs and finally, the curve patterned floors are all engulfed the guests to dine in such hyper visual atmosphere.
Ceiling-to-floor amorphous bar
Sinuous walls and booths
Amongst all, I personally think that the most interesting part about this restaurant is actually how the design of such curvilinear space being juxtaposed by the angular high gloss white Poly chairs. As you can see, even the custom printed wallpaper that wraps around the restaurant's walls have become a large mural that change not only in colors and forms but to a certain extent in blurring the borders of graphic design, art, and architecture.
Soft organic lounge chairs
Curve patterned floors
However, as the graphic continues through to the glass walls of the sidewalk veranda with its large curved glass corners, the space is now offering a more wide open view to the city with lots of fashionable activities going on along the streets.

The proper floor plan of the Kurve, New York
The Kurve, New York made its debut with a characteristically splashy Karim Rashid's design and a menu that combines both Eastern and Western ingredients and techniques to woo and satisfied the hungry diners around the world.
